About me

I have a degree in pure maths and quantum physics, but that was a long time ago. I’ve worked mostly in teaching/education but for a long time I worked/sat in an office. Currently I’m taking some time off work to focus on living.

I love textiles and beadwork, art and design, mathematics and elegance. I live for the buzz of inspiration and making. I don’t watch TV, so most of the office jokes and those gifs on tumblr mean nothing to me.

I’m small and I flit from idea to idea. And from Tasmania*. Hence pardalote.

Questions? post here, or email me: blog//@//pardalote//.//net

And I have another blog, about my hiking adventures: Michelle Walks.

(*But I’m now in Melbourne.)

Thanks for your nice comment about the wren photos – perhaps they helped a little with your embroidery, which I think looks great. You have some beautiful embroideries on your blog, I’m wondering if you are a Guild member? I belong to the Castlemaine Branch of the Embroiderer’s Guild, and have a great love of all things textile. Not doing so much now as photography seems to have taken over, but I still dabble…..All the best.

Hi Sue, thanks for your reply 🙂 I joined the guild only last month! I’ve been to the exhibition, but no classes/groups yet, still learning my way around. And I’m a dabbler too, hurray for dabbling! Your photography is beautiful, I look forward to following your blog now that I’ve found it. More bird photos please! 😀
